Challenge

For its two brands, Furniture Row and Denver Mattress, the digital marketing team required agility with releases and more flexibility than the CMS, search, and merchandising capabilities offered in their legacy, monolithic commerce platform could support. Furniture Row selected NoChannel from UpStart Commerce as its new headless, cloud-based, API-first commerce solution.
Re-platforming from a highly customized Oracle Commerce instance to NoChannel required solid planning, a well thought out architecture, and a one-team approach.

Solution

From architecture to business analysis, to project planning, development and testing, DMI provided a one-stop shop of commerce experts to design, develop, and deliver Furniture Row’s new headless commerce solution on time and on budget.

DMI not only managed its development team, but also oversaw the entire transformation program, coordinating dependencies and deadlines across all the teams involved to ensure everyone was working in concert.

We applied an Agile methodology to project delivery to show measurable progress and remain nimble as unexpected changes came up during project execution.

Impact

The completed project positioned Furniture Row for growth with two newly re-platformed sites on a headless commerce, CMS, and blog solution built on a scalable and reliable hosting cloud infrastructure.

Implementing a headless platform improved site performance, SEO, and release flexibility while also lowering hosting and platform costs.

New CMS tools allow the marketing team to more easily manage site content and blog content, and following an Agile delivery model lets the team quickly deploy important changes to production.
