Tysons Corner, VA – September 24, 2024 — DMI, a leading global provider of digital services, proudly announces its receipt of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) OC Honor Award. This accolade acknowledges the outstanding achievements of DMI’s DevSecOps, Innovation, Modernization, and Engineering Services (DIMES) Program. The program has been instrumental in leading mission-critical projects, implementing network upgrades, and deploying Software-Defined Networking (SDN) at the FDA, including significant wireless modernization efforts at the agency’s historic White Oak campus.
The FDA’s Honor Awards program celebrates contributions that significantly advance the FDA’s mission and enhance its programmatic goals and objectives. DMI’s work aligns closely with the FDA’s Technology Modernization Action Plan and Data Modernization Action Plan, which strive to boost efficiency and effectiveness in support of the agency’s mission.
Rocky Thurston, DMI’s Chief Executive Officer, expressed his gratitude for the recognition, saying, “DMI is dedicated to supporting the critical work of the FDA. Our team has focused on delivering the essential connectivity and modernized infrastructure needed for the FDA’s staff to perform their duties effectively. This award reflects our commitment supporting the FDA’s critical work and strategic initiatives.”
DIMES supports these initiatives, as well as the Commissioner’s Return to the Workplace strategic goals, by providing a modern, secure data network incorporating zero trust architecture and micro-segmentation.
Eric Brusoe, DMI Senior Program Manager, emphasized the project’s challenges and successes, noting, “An efficient workplace today requires seamless connectivity across multiple devices and locations. At the White Oak campus, the combination of historic buildings and an outdated WiFi system posed significant challenges. DMI partnered with the FDA to successfully upgraded to a converged network that respects the site’s constraints while enabling robust connectivity for a mobile workforce, even in high-density areas.”
DMI and other award recipients were honored during a ceremony on September 23.
