Toys R Us’ application did not provide any link to the in-store experience via their mobile application. The app was essentially their mobile website in an app wrapper, limiting the value of using it. The app did provide a barcode scanner to help shoppers learn more about products, pricing information and inventory information – however, the scanner did not function properly a majority of the time. For parents today, the app does not provide any significant value.
