Office Depot is on the right track with their mobile application. Overall, they make an effort to personalize the shopping experience – greeting the shopper with a notification upon store entry. The app houses a great scanning feature that worked 100% of the time. This enables shoppers to check pricing, inventory (at a fairly detailed level) and product reviews. shoppers can make lists, and can keep their business and personal supplies (and needs) separated. The app could do more to assist the in-store experience – like requesting help, providing a stronger connection to a loyalty program and more – but we think they’re ahead of the game when it comes to office supply chains.
