Like J.Crew, Madewell does not have a mobile application. However, their mobile ecommerce site is slower, clunkier and does not function as well as its parent company’s. You have the ability to view if an item is available online only, or is sold in stores – but not the quantity available, recommended content, related items or reviews. Functionality is low, and Madewell’s clientele would likely respond highly to the ability to share items, reserve dressing rooms, and understand what’s available online vs. in a store. While they didn’t score straight zero’s like other retailers we evaluated, there is a huge opportunity for Madewell. Any updates would improve the experience tremendously.
