The Home Goods application is fairly disconnected from its in-store experience. It functions mostly as a browsing tool – to use before you enter the store – as there is no ecommerce available. Despite the inability to purchase items online, they have included a Pinterest-like feature that allows users to like, comment, share and list items as “favorites” in a way that is a visual shopping list. Other than that, the feature is limited. When in a location, a store associate was shown the piece of furniture that was “favorited”, but did not know if the store had the item, where it was, or if it was in stock. Overall, the application should be used before going to a location rather than accompanying the in-store experience.
