Similar to it’s sister retailers – Anthropologie & Urban Outfitters – Free People provides a strong mobile in-store experience through its application. A scanning feature that works most of the time allows shoppers to view product information, reviews with photos, prices and inventory information (when available). Free People also allows shoppers to view reviews that include photos posted from other shoppers to get a great sense of what the product looks like in real life, how it fits, and how customers like it. This photo can also be linked to your own social media profile within the application. This portion of the app also lets shoppers explore other items – based on what other customers purchased and what the Free People stylists recommend. Free People scored low in personalization and store guidance, both areas that are difficult to accomplish due to in-store technology limitations. However, Free People provides it’s hip millennial audience a solid mobile in-store experience.
