Digital Management to Implement Microsoft SharePoint-Based Enterprise CMS for Treasury Department
The Treasury-wide Implementation Will Be One of the Most Extensive Implementations of ECM using SharePoint in the Federal Government
Bethesda, MD—October 8, 2010—Digital Management, Inc. (www.digitalmanagement.com), a leading IT solutions and business strategy consulting firm, announced today that it has been awarded a 3-year contract to build an Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system, based on Microsoft SharePoint 2010, for the Department of the Treasury. The SharePoint ECM system will enable critical information sharing in support of the financial and regulatory responsibilities of the Treasury.
Treasury’s contract with Digital Management is the expression of a broad strategy to transform Department operations by replacing manual, paper-intensive processes that are costly and inefficient, delay responses to the public, and increase litigation risks. By deploying SharePoint as a new enterprise-wide foundation for content management, Digital Management will enable Treasury to apply consistent standards for content across the organization, more efficiently share information, more easily align their work with related government-wide initiatives, and leverage tools, technologies, licenses, standards, and commonalities in requirements to achieve economies of scale.
While deploying Treasury’s SharePoint ECM system, Digital Management will further modernize how Treasury manages content by:
- Incorporating new media and Web2.0 components to improve internal/external communications
- Migrating current business processes, legacy IT systems, and data into a new, approved taxonomy in SharePoint 2010
- Complying with Federal policies, guidelines, usability, and accessibility standards
- Providing access to content from mobile devices.
Digital Management will also create a records management system that will incorporate Treasury records and a correspondence tracking system that will be available for deployment Treasury-wide.
“The mission of the Department of the Treasury is of vital national importance,” said Reuben Arulanandam, Director of Sales and the Microsoft Channel of Digital Management’s Enterprise Solutions Division. “We are honored to play a part in supporting this mission by increasing bureau productivity and collaboration by driving Treasury-wide adoption.”
“This is an exciting win for Digital Management,” said Jay Sunny Bajaj, Digital Management’s CEO. “Our Enterprise Solutions Division has established a great track record of delivering Microsoft-based solutions to a large client base. We are proud to have been selected to develop and deploy a solution so foundational to the Treasury’s infrastructure and so critical to improving the day-to-day operations of its employees. Nothing could be more in line with our mission of driving government transformation.”
