Digital Management to Develop Business Case Strategy and Plan for the Department of Transportations (DOT) Departmental Procurement Platform (DP2) Program

Technical and Analytical Support will Aid DOT in the Development of a Modernized, Department-Wide Procurement Solution

Bethesda, MD—December 22, 2010Digital Management, Inc. (, a leading IT solutions and business strategy consulting firm, announced today it was contracted by the Department of Transportation (DOT) to support the creation of a Business Case, Strategy and Plan for DOT’s Departmental Procurement Platform (DP2) Program.

The DP2 Program is an effort to develop a more comprehensive solution for integrated procurement, financial management and reporting bytaking into account four critical issues related to the procurement process: Organizational, Business Process, Data and IT Systems. Under the contract, Digital Management will develop a strategy and plan which will define the scope and depth of the DP2 Program and establish a development path for the creation of a web-based enterprise-wide departmental acquisition management solution.

DOT has been working for several years to improve procurement processes and related data processing and reporting, but a department-wide solution has proven elusive. Digital Management’s work with the DP2 Program will provide the agency with an integrated vision and business case for a Department-wide Enterprise Procurement Capability, clearly supporting the DOT mission and enabling the department to comply with growing demands for contract information reporting.

“We are pleased to be working with DOT on its DP2 Program,” said Jay Sunny Bajaj, Digital Management’s President and CEO. “By taking a ‘data-first ‘approach in creating and implementing a web-based enterprise-wide management solution, Digital Management is helping to position DOT at the forefront of federal acquisition.”
