Digital Management Expands at Naval Air Warfare Center (NAVAIR) with its Second Prime Contract
Company Wins Four-year Tomahawk Cruise Missile Support Contract
Bethesda, MD—March 25, 2009 —Digital Management, Inc., announced today that it has been selected by the U.S. Navy to provide comprehensive management, engineering, analysis and flight testing support for the Tomahawk Cruise Missile Weapons System, based out of the Patuxent Naval Air Station (NAVAIR PAX River).
The Tomahawk Land Attack Missile (TLAM) is an all-weather, long range, subsonic cruise missile used for land attack warfare, launched from U. S. Navy surface ships and U.S. Navy and British Royal Navy submarines. First deployed in 1991 in Operation Desert Storm, the Tomahawk has been an immense success. Four missile variants exist and/or are deployed in both vertical and/or horizontal launch configurations. The cruise missile’s Weapons System is composed of the mission planning system, launch platform weapons control and fire control systems.
Under this four-year contract, Digital Management will provide a broad range of services to support the acquisition lifecycle test and evaluation of the Tomahawk Weapons System. The company will provide ongoing and quick-reaction technical, analytical, engineering and management support services for planning, budgeting, programming, executing, analyzing, and reporting on Tomahawk flight test and related operations. Digital Management will verify design concepts, demonstrate specified system technical performance, demonstrate operational effectiveness and suitability, support data quality initiatives to ensure enterprise data integrity, and confirm training adequacy and tactical employment doctrine. From long range planning to test development to flight test planning to IT support to test operations, Digital Management will play a key role in ensuring the Tomahawk Weapons Systems meet stringent standards for quality and accuracy throughout the DoD acquisition lifecycle.
