Digital Management Awarded 5-Year Contract by Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to Establish a Project Management Office Center of Excellence

Company’s Expertise in U.S. Federal IT Project and Portfolio Management Key to Contract Win

Bethesda, MD—October 7, 2010—Digital Management, Inc. (www.dminc.com), a leading IT solutions and business strategy consulting firm, announced today it has been awarded a five-year contract for Information Technology Investment Management (ITIM) services for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). The ITIM Program supports HUD’s $422.8M IT portfolio and is integral to achieving HUD’s vision for a Project Management Office Center of Excellence (PMO-COE) that ensures optimal delivery of its IT investments.

Under this new contract, Digital Management will be HUD’s single point of accountability for the ITIM Program, working with HUD to establish its PMO-COE. The company will apply rigorous portfolio, program and project management operational processes and tools to ensure HUD’s portfolio of IT projects adequately addresses its business strategies, and that each project is managed to achieve the benefits envisioned. Digital Management will provide HUD with tangible solutions to help advance the Department’s ITIM maturity, evolving its ITIM processes for smooth integration with the Department’s Enterprise Architecture.

When fully implemented and supported, Digital Management will have delivered a full-featured IT investment management process, offering several significant benefits:

  • Greater investment success — higher completion rates, plan adherence, and customer satisfaction
  • Higher quality IT investments — where completed investments match stated requirements
  • Higher value IT investments — achieving specified return on investment
  • Better citizen service — with participative, informed, decision making and management
  • Higher IT stakeholder trust — through transparent, performance driven investment decisions
  • Full compliance with congressional legislation and executive mandates

DMI has implemented these capabilities for other clients including the SBA, DOI, DOJ, DOT and DHHS, and brings the experience, process maturity, methodologies and enabling toolsets to HUD that will achieve its objectives and deliver key benefits.

“We’re very proud to have been afforded this opportunity to support one of the Federal government’s most important IT Portfolios,” said Jay Sunny Bajaj, Digital Management’s CEO. “HUD plays a critical role in the well-being of this country—a role all the more important given the current economic climate. Digital Management is committed to the successful management of these IT investments – initiatives that have direct impact on mission-critical programs that millions of people count on every day.”
