Digital Management Appraised at Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 2
Proven Software Development Processes Enable the Company to Dependably Deliver on Increasingly Demanding Opportunities in the Federal Market
Bethesda, MD—December 22, 2009—Digital Management, Inc., a leading IT solutions and business strategy consulting firm, announced today that it has been appraised at Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 2 by Carnegie Mellon’s Software Engineering Institute (SEI). To achieve this appraisal level, Digital Management’s software development processes were evaluated and found to comply with SEI guidelines for on-time, on-budget delivery of high-quality mission-critical software applications.
CMMI maturity is increasingly recognized within the Federal Government as a good yardstick with which to measure an IT solutions company’s capability to reliably deliver mission-critical software solutions on-time and within-budget. Digital Management’s appraisal at CMMI Level 2 provides that third-party affirmation of the company’s record of software development successes and opens the door to a new class of demanding software development opportunities for which CMMI Level 2 appraisal is a requirement.
“We’re very excited to have been acknowledged as having developed rigorous, disciplined software development processes. We’re proud of our ability to accurately plan and estimate projects, and our clients appreciate knowing when work will be delivered and at what cost. We look forward to being able to apply our expertise to a whole new set of opportunities in the Federal market and are committed as a company to ever-improving processes that will drive us up the CMMI capability maturity model,” Sunny Bajaj, CEO, Digital Management.
CMMI is a process improvement approach that was developed by a group of experts from industry, government, and the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University. It can be used to guide process improvement across a project, a division, or an entire organization. CMMI levels are a numeric scale used to rate the maturity of a software development process or team.
At maturity level 2, software development processes are appraised as repeatable, and supportive of producing repeatable results across various development projects. Adoption of CMMI models, appraisal methods, and training courses has been proven to improve process performance. Digital Management’s disciplined software development processes are focused on instilling quality in the end product and minimizing time to delivery, enabling efficient management of a wide variety of IT projects, large and small.
