Moville 2.0: Submit Your Pro Bono Projects

Two years ago we founded Moville, an international Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, with the ambition of making the world a better place through mobile technology and creating new jobs along the way. Now it’s time for a new edition!

Moville is a program that teaches students to become mobile experts by working on real-world, non-profit projects. They are taught and mentored by some of the best mobile specialists in the world and at the end of the project, attendees who pass the course are given a diploma that will almost guarantee them a job.

Moville has been an exciting journey and a great success story so far. We’ve trained over 40 students, delivered projects for NHS, Oxfam, The Asia Foundation and Friends International and to our knowledge every one of the students got a job in the digital space, either with DMI or someone else, after graduating. I couldn’t be more proud of the team that has made this happen, including all the amazing students.

You can read more about Moville and other community engagement we take part in here.

Starting in January, we will have new Moville classes in Barcelona (Spain), Phnom Penh (Cambodia) and potentially Delhi (India). This means that we are looking for new students and projects.

Students
Apply to one of the roles as a project manager, UX/UI designer, quality assurance tester or developer! The program is officially valued at $6,500 but sponsored by DMI so provided for free. Send your CV and motivational letter (max. 250 words) with “Moville” in the subject line to your local recruitment team:

Non-profit Organizations
We are looking for projects that can be delivered in 3.5 months’ time from beginning to end. The projects will be carried out for free (commercial value is at least $150,000) by the students and guided by mobile experts with a minimum of 5 years of experience.

This year we will deliver 2-3 projects. Submit your organization’s idea to me with “Moville” in the subject line.

Please include a short description of:

  • Your problem statement, concept ideas and high level scope
  • What you want to achieve with the app
  • Why we should select your project

Note that you will be required to interact with our team at least 2 hours per week during the project.

With your help we will continue making the world a better place in 2016 by leveraging mobile technology!
