When Gartner examined the top Managed Mobility Service providers for 2018, there were 12 companies analyzed. Gartner separates these top MMS vendor solutions into four categories. Leaders, Challengers, Visionaries and Niche players. Of the 12 providers in this Magic Quadrant, only two companies were recognized as leaders– DMI and IBM.
What does MMS encompass?
Gartner states “Gartner states “Managed Mobility Services encompass the vendor- provided IT and business process services required to plan, procure, provision, activate, manage and support mobile devices, mobile network services, related mobile management systems, mobile applications.” MMS eases the burden of IT departments through the deployment and management of device platforms, delivering content to smartphones, tablets and BYOD devices.
Gartner has rearranged its categories for core deliverables for MMS into five categories: sourcing and logistics management, managed EMM, security management, financial management, and program management (including professional services). All 12 of the MMS service providers in this Magic Quadrant report offer all of these service segments in full.
What does it mean to be a Gartner Magic Quadrant Leader?
Leaders must prove that they have developed and invested in systems and resources to address the growing needs of this market. They start from device-specific forward and reverse logistics and the management of customer-owned EMM instances, and grow to mobile application development and then integrating mobility into the business process when required. Leaders must consistently update their existing service products to address rapidly changing use cases, so they can be relied on for enterprise-class delivery and service management. Leaders have proven technical competence and the ability to deliver services to multinational customers. Leaders will maintain broad and deep portfolios of project-based services, in addition to longer-term and annuity service contracts.
This report positions DMI as a leader because of our completeness of vision and ability to execute.
