It’s that time of the year again! Department, specialty, and tech stores will be showcasing their unbelievable mark downs for the upcoming Black Friday shopping event held across the country. But over the years, we’ve seen a change in the way we shop for Holiday gifts.
According to PriceGrabber’s Holiday Survey, 23% of consumers are planning on using their mobile device to shop this year. In addition, 88% plan to shop via their desktop, 47% prefer the old school way of actually visiting the store and 46% plan on making fewer trips to stores.
So it’s safe to say the rise of mobile shopping apps will reach a new level this year. To keep you in the loop, we’ve come up with a list of must have apps to help you get the most out of your Black Friday:
RetailMeNot – For Iphone & Android
Many of us know RetailMeNot’s site of coupons of your favorite retailers and now they’ve come out with their app, just in time to get downloaded for Black Friday. The app allows you to search for the best deals at your favorite stores and also alerts you of any deals based on your location. The best part is all you have to do is show your phone to redeem your deal.
PriceGrabber – For Iphone & Android
The PriceGrabber app is going to be a great app for those that also want to check out a physical store but may be open to purchasing via your smartphone. PriceGrabber compares prices for you and allows you to pick your own price. The app will then let you know when that item is at the designated price to ensure you get the best possible deal.
Wanelo – For Iphone & Android
Wanelo (Want, Need, Love) is the perfect app for those on your list that you just don’t know what to get. The app gives you an endless stream of items that have great deals on them. Kind of reminds us of Pinterest.
Amazon Price Check – For Iphone & Android
Have you ever been at the store looking for a particular item, then instantly pull out your phone to see if it can be ordered online for a better price? Well Amazon Price check will make that easier for you. Most of what we purchase online comes from an Amazon warehouse, so the app will allow you to see if they have that same item at the store for a better price.
Shopular – For Iphone & Android
Another great live couponing app, Shopular alerts you of current deals of a particular retail store once you are in or around the location. Great for those shoppers on a time crunch or those who want to get in and get out.
Lemon Wallet – For Iphone & Android
This is a must have app for everyone, Lemon Wallet allows you to take a snap shot of any important document (Cards, receipts, personal documentation) and digitally stores it in your smartphone. Worried about the safety of the app? Lemon wallet has great security levels for all of your noted documents and allows you to keep an extra pin for added security. This is especially appropriate for after the holidays, when some gifts just need to be exchanged or returned for another item.
Abercrombie & Fitch – For Iphone
This goes to one of our favorite clothing brands (and app gems). If you’ve got a trending teen, significant other or friend that is just in love with Abercrombie, then this app will do you some good and save you time for the Holidays. One of the coolest things I noticed after first downloading the app is the audio playlist integration into the app. Need help finding a gift for that Abercrombie fanatic? The app also offers a gift guide with the most trending items of the season for guys and gals, holiday deals and exclusives for members only.
Hollister – For Iphone & Android
Have a younger crowd but like what the Abercrombie app offers? Then the Hollister app is your go to. This app allows you to scan your favorite styles in the store and gives personal styling tips, suggestions and allows you to add the item to your “Get” list. Looking for a gift for someone other than yourself? – Then you can just pass that item along to your “Give” list. Most importantly we’ve got word that the best item on the app is the style quiz, which asks you a couple simple questions and gives you some suggestions and tips based on your answers.
Of course we couldn’t list ALL our favorite apps or else it would be a never ending blog post, but share your favorite apps with us via our twitter profile and let’s chat.
